So continuing, I am discussing about Brhad-bhagavatamrtam, composed by Srila Sanatana Gosvamipad. Brhad-bhagavatamrtam is called the essence of Srimad Bhagavatam and here Srila Sanatana Gosvamipad explains two stories, one is the story of Narada Rsi and the other is the story of Gopa-kumar.

In the first part we discussed how Narada Rsi went to different places and he glorified the devotees. Narada Rsi first met with one brahmana in Prayaga, who used to worship his Thakurji Salagram-sila. Narada Rsi told him, “You are the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord”, and that brahmana told, “I am not the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord, the king who lives in South India worships the Lord and engages all of his wealth and money in Thakura-seva, so he is the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord”.

Then Narada Rsi went to South India and saw how the king served his Thakurji and then Narada Rsi  said, “You are the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord”, then the king told, “I am not the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord, the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord is Indra, the king of the heavenly planets”.

Then Narada Rsi went to the heavenly planet and he also glorified Indra, who is the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord. Indra [being] very humble told, “I am not the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord; Brahmaji is the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord”. Then Narada Rsi came in Brahma-loka and met Brahmaji, who told, “Actually I am not the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord; Shiva is the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord (bhagavata-krpa-patra)”.

Then Narada Rsi arrived in Shiva-loka. In my last class I explained about when Brahmaji glorified Lord Shiva and how he is called Hari-hara ekatma. Hari-hara ekatma means Lord Hari; Hari means Vishnu and Hara means Shiva, so Hari-hara ekatma means the oneness of Hari (Vishnu) and Hara (Shiva). Actually Hari-kari means, “private hetu ekatmanam”, where there is too much intimacy, in the sanskrit language it is called ekatma, oneness with each other. So we ca give the example of when Lord Ramachandra built the bridge over the ocean with his monkeys; at that time he stablished one Shiva-linga on the beach of the ocean and at that time Ramachandra declared the Shiva-linga’s name as Rameshvara-Shiva.

So there are three meanings of Rameshvara, in the last class I have also explained; human beings panditas (learned persons) explain that Sivaji is the lord of Rama, so for this regard they are saying Rameshvara; and the devatas (demigods and demigoddess) also explain that Rama is the Lord and Shiva is the Lord, both are the Lord. Then Sivaji manifested from his Shiva-linga and explained, “No, Ramachandra is my master - yasya isvara rama iti rameshvara”.

So in this way I gave many explanations in Hari-hara ekatma and how lord Shiva is the very nearest and dearest of Lord Krishna. Lord Shiva is very generous and he is the actual embodiment of the complete renounced order, (vairagyaki murta vigraha). This is because Lord Shiva is always absorbed in chanting the holy names, doing bhajana and sadhana and remembering the pastimes (lilas) of Rama and Krishna.

So Narada Rsi arrived in Kailash and he said, “He Shivaji, you are the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord”, but Shivaji, being very humble, told, “I am not the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord because many times I have committed offenses (aparadha) at the lotus feet of my master Krishna. Lord always saved, me but some panditas cannot understand my Shiva-tattva, they are thinking that I am the Supreme Personality of Godhead, this is not true. I am the servant of Lord Krishna, daso’smi, daso’smi, daso’smi, I am the servant of the servant of the servant of my master Krishna.

Lord Shiva said, “He Narada Rsi, I had to preach impersonalism (mayavada), and I also made confusion in the heart of people. These things are also explained in:
mayavadam asac-chastrampracchannam bauddham ucyate(Padma Purana, Uttara khanda 25.7)
Once Devi Parvati asked to Lord Shiva, “O my husband, why did you preach the impersonalism and this verse aham brahmasmi (I am brahma)? People became completely confused because of your preaching. Lord Shiva argued, “He Devi Parvati, this is not my fault, because my master Krishna gave me this order, ‘He Shiva, you have to preach impersonalism because the demons are disturbing Me’. So because of the instruction of my Master, I preached the impersonalism, aham brahmasmiShivaji also told, “He Narada Rsi, I gave many benedictions to the demons and they disturbed me [for this reason], not only the devotees of Lord Krishna.

So Lord Shiva is very generous, he gives benedictions very easily,
khane rusta khane tusta rusta tusta khane khane prasada api bhyankara(Hitopadesha )
In the sastra it is explained that one who is very easy to please and at the same time gets angry very easily, his mercy is very dangerous, so khane rusta khane tusta... (Hitopadesha )

Shivaji told, “I am only giving multi (liberation) to all living entities by the chanting of the holy names of Rama and Krishna.

Lord Shivaji lives in Varanasi, there is called Kasi-Varanasi, and Shivaji is always chanting the holy names of Ram Ram. He is also called jñana-data, mukti-data and in this way he gives the knowledge and also liberation.

Lord Shiva serves to Lord Rama and Lord Krishna everywhere, so Lord Shiva is also called Dhama-rakshaka which means one who protects the Dhama (abode) of Lord Krishna or Lord Ramachandra.
Where Krishna’s Dhama is, Shivaji will also be there. If you go to Mathura, you will see that Shivaji has manifested in four forms there: Bhutesvara, Rangesvara, Pipalesvara and Gokarnesvara. Even in Govardhana he is staying in the form of Chaklesvara and in Vrindavana, in the form of Gopesvara Mahadeva and Bhankandi Mahadeva. Even in Jagannath Puri, Shivaji manifested this form of Lokanath Shiva and in Navadvipa-dhama he is staying in the form of Budasiva tala. So everywhere Lord Shiva protects the Dhama of Lord (bhagavata-dhama-rakshaka). Never criticize to Lord Shiva.

Try to understand that Lord Shiva is the servant, he is not svayam-bhagavan. Sometimes people innocently chant “namah sivaya, namah sivaya”, then they want to become “sivo’smi, sivo’smi - I will become Shiva”. For this regard Lord Shiva’s consort, Parvati, could not tolerate and she manifested in a form with a very aggressive mood, ugra-canda, and in this naked form she took one sword and cut the demons, those who are chanting this mantra “sivo’ham sivo’ham – I am Shiva, I am Shiva”. So one should never chant this mantra “sivo’ham”.

Jivas (soul) will never become Shiva, so in Brahma-samhita it is very nicely explained about Shiva-tattva.

Actually Shiva-tattva is not completely Visnu-tattva, not completely Jiva-tattva and not completely Maya-tattva, it is samisra-tattva; samisra means combined.

Shiva has fifty-five qualifications. Fifty qualifications of all the living entities are completely present in him and also five qualifications of the Lord mixed with maya. Lord Shiva performs his activities with maya’s tama-guna (mode of ignorance), so in Shiva-tattva’s guna, fifty five qualifications are there. Shiva-tattva is very complicated. In Brahma-samhita it is that milk can be transformed in yogurt but yogurt can never be transformed in milk.

So, when Narada Rsi glorified Shivaji, “O Shivaji, you are the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord”, Shivaji replied, “He Narada Rsi, don’t tell me this, how is it possible that I am the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord? Many times, I have committed offences at the lotus feet of my Master”. Actually Lord Shiva has never committed offences at the lotus feet of his Lord because this is his lila.

A jiva will never become Shiva. Some people cannot perfectly understand  Shiva-tattva, for this regard they are thinking, “Jiva is Shiva and Shiva is jiva” and this is a kind of impersonalism (mayavada). A jiva will never become Shiva and Shiva will never become a jiva. Actually, our sastra (scriptures) explain why these words (Jiva will become Shiva) are used:

The names of Brahma and Shiva are a kind of post [position] as like president and minister. Our sastra explain that one who follows all the rules and regulations of varnasrama-dharma, after one hundred births, he will get the position of Brahma, which means that the jiva will take charge of the position of Brahma. That  jiva will become Brahma and then, again for a hundred births taking the charge of the post of Brahma, that jiva will come in the post of Shivaji. But this is very very rare.

For this regard our sastra are saying that there are two kinds of Brahma and two kinds of Shiva. Of the two kinds of Brahma, the first one is called vairaj-Brahma and the other one is called hiranya-garbha-Brahma. Vairaj-Brahma is jiva-tattva, one who follows all of the rules and regulations of varnasrama-dharma for a hundred births will get the position of Brahma, that Brahma is called vairaj-Brahma. Hiranya-garbha-Brahma means that when in that Kalpa (long period of time) is very difficult to find a jiva who perform the varnasrama-dharma for a hundred births, at that time Lord Himself takes the charge of the position of Brahma and that Brahma is called hiranya-garbha-Brahma

In the same way for one jiva to come in the stage of Shivaji it is very, very rare. A jiva who comes in the stage of Shiva-tattva, that Shiva is also jiva-tattva, but that is very, very rare. After a hundred births following the rules of varnasrama-dharma and [by that] coming in the stage of Brahma then again for a hundred births taking charge of the position of Brahma then you will get the position of Shiva. But that is very, very rare.

[If in one Kalpa there is no qualified jiva to take the position of Shiva], at that time Lord Visnu Himself takes charge of the position of Shiva and that Shiva’s name is Sada-Shiva. So Sada-Shiva-tattva is Bhagvat-tattva. Shiva-tattva is very complicated...

Continuing, Shivaji told, “He Narada Rsi, I am not the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord, if you want to see the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord you can go to Vaikuntha Dhama, because all the liberated souls (mukta-jivas) are living there and also many Bhagavat-parsada, those who are associates of the Lord, are living there and serving very nicely the Lord. The Bhagavat-parsada, mukta-jivas are living in Vaikuntha Dhama. But before going to Vaikuntha Dhama, you must meet with Prahlada, who now lives in Patala-loka, which is called Suta-loka. Go there but very carefully glorify the lotus feet of Prahlada, because he is also a pure devotee”.

Prahlada Maharaja is the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord because there is that lila when Lord Nrisimhadeva killed Hiranyakasipu: after killing Hiranyakasipu, Lord Nrisimhadeva manifested a very aggressive mood as like lion after hunting the elephants, it becomes very aggressive and mad. In the same way, when Lord Nrisimhadeva killed Hiranyakasipu, he became very angry. At that time all the demigods and demigoddess came in front of Him doing stava-stutis (offering prayers) but no one could pacify Lord Nrisimhadeva. Even Laksmi Devi did not come in front of Him and Brahmaji and Shivaji also stayed very far from the Lord, paying their obeisance and reciting many stava-stutis. But Lord Nrisimhadeva became very angry and chastised Brahma, “He Brahma, why did you give these types of benedictions to the demons?”. Brahmaji, being very humble, told, “I will not do this again.” Then Shivaji ran way, he did not come in front of Lord Nrisimhadeva because Shivaji also did the same, many times he gave benedictions to the demons.

When Prahlada Maharaja came very close to Lord Nrisimhadeva, the Lord took him and sat him on his thighs, patting on his back. Lord Nrisimhadeva’s heart melted and tears were rolling dow [from His face].

So Shivaji told, “Prahlada is the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord, so you have to go to Suta-loka. Prahladaji is there and Lord Nrisimhadeva told that anybody who will come in the dynasty of Prahlada would be delivered, devotee or non-devotee, this is not the subject, anybody who will come in his dynasty will be delivered.  So we see that in the dynasty of Prahlada Maharaja, Prahlada’s father Hiranyakasipu was a demon and Prahlada was a devotee. Prahlada’s son, Virocana, was also a non-devotee but Virocana’s son was Bali Maharaja and Bali Mahraja’s tattva is that, when Lord gave the place of Bali Maharaja in Suta-loka, and he is staying there, Lord Visnu is staying in the four gates of Bali Maharaja’s place and He is giving darsan to them.

[Shiva continued], “He Narada, listen very carefully, even Lord Nrisimhadeva told, ‘Prahlada, I want to give you a benediction, you can ask for anything’, but Prahlada Maharaja said, ‘O Lord, I don’t want any benediction from You. You have delivered my father and You delivered all the living entities’”.
Finaly Prahlada Maharaja told:
prāyeṇa deva munayaḥ sva-vimukti-kāmāmaunaṁ caranti vijane na parārtha-niṣṭhāḥnaitān vihāya kṛpaṇān vimumukṣa ekonānyaṁ tvad asya śaraṇaṁ bhramato ’nupaśye(Srimad Bhagavatam 7.9.44)“My dear Lord Nrsimha-deva, I see that there are many saintly persons indeed, but they are interested only in their own deliverance. Not caring for the big cities and towns, they go to the Himalayas or the forest to meditate with vows of silence [mauna-vrata]. They are not interested in delivering others. As for me, however, I do not wish to be liberated alone, leaving aside all these poor fools and rascals. I know that without Krsna consciousness, without taking shelter of Your lotus feet, one cannot be happy. Therefore I wish to bring them back to shelter at Your lotus feet.”
One who performs bhajana and sadhana for his own deliverance (mukti) is called selfish. Prahlada Maharaja told, “O My Lord, I don’t want these types of benedictions. You can give me the power in my heart, so I will glorify Your sweet pastimes, chant Your holy names and preach all over the world and You also deliver all the living entities, I may go to hell to suffer for their sinful activities”. Then Lord Nrisimhadeva’s heart melted and he told, “Prahlada, I promise to you, one who listen My Nrisimha-katha and Praladha-carita-katha will be delivered from this material world and attain Vaikuntha Dhama”.

So now Lord Shiva glorified Prahlada Maharaja, how Prahlada is the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord, then Narada Rsi chanted the Lord’s names on the way to arrive in Suta-loka and there he saw Prahlada Maharaja completely absorbed in the trance and meditation of Lord Visnu. Then Narada Rsi, in a very humble way, did many stava-stutis (offering prayers) to Prahlada Maharaja and Prahlada Maharaja just opened his eyes and saw that Narada Rsi had come. Prahlada very nicely and with love and affection meet together [with Narada] and Narada Rsi told, “He Prahlada, you are the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord”. Prahlada Maharaja said, “He Narada Rsi, you know everything, how is it possible that I am the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord? You may say that the Lord gave me benediction, gave me darsana and everything. He also protected me, but this is the nature of the Lord, because Lord has one qualification which is to give mercy to all the living entities”. In Bhagavad-gita Krishna says these words:
samo 'ham sarva-bhutesuna me dvesyo 'sti na priyahye bhajanti tu mam bhaktyamayi te tesu capy aham (Bhagavad-gita 9.29)“I am equally disposed to all living beings and am neither inimical nor partial to anyone. But as those who serve Me with bhakti are attached to Me, so too am I bound by affection for them.”
I am equal to all the living entities, [there is no one] who is My enemy and [no one] who is My friend.

Prahlada continued, “So if you say that Lord protected me, [you know] this is His nature, to protect all the living entities; [to say that] according to my bhakti Lord protected me is not true”.

In this way Prahlada Maharaja, being very humble, told, “I am not the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord, if you want to take darsana of the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord you should go to Vaikuntha Dhama and you will see there, how the devotees of Vaikuntha serve the Lord; especially in Vaikuntha Dhama, Garuda (Lord Visnu’s carrier), Visaksena and Laksmi-devi are there, so you can go and see how they worship the Lord.

Narada Rsi then chanted the holy names and played his vina while he proceded to Vaikuntha Dhama. [When he arrived there] he saw how nice and beautiful is the transcendental Dham. Our sastra explain  that Vaikuntha Dhama is beyond of maya:
harir hi nirguṇaḥ sākṣātpuruṣaḥ prakṛteḥ paraḥsa sarva-dṛg upadraṣṭātaṁ bhajan nirguṇo bhavet(Srimad Bhagavatam 10.88.5)“Lord Hari, however, has no connection with the material modes. He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the all-seeing eternal witness, who is transcendental to material nature. One who worships Him becomes similarly free from the material modes.”

harir hi nirguṇaḥ - Lord Sri Hari is called one who is beyond of mayaharir hi nirguṇaḥ sākṣāt puruṣaḥ prakṛteḥ - And there is the highest Dhama, very nice and beautiful, the place [which is] beyond of maya.

Then when Narada Rsi arrived in Vaikuntha Dhama he saw how Lord Visnu has manifested His very nice and beautiful sweet form which is called the catur-bhuja form. Our sastra say that the Lord always stays in Vaikuntha in the four-handed form – sankha, cakra, gada and padma, with His own parikaras (eternal associates) Visaksena, Garuda and especially Laksmi Devi; she is always serving the lotus feet of Lord Visnu there.

Once Narada Rsi also asked Lord Visnu,  “O my Master and Lord Visnu, honestly tell me where are you staying?”. And Lord Vishnu told,
naham vasami vaikunthe yoginam hrdayena camad-bhakta yatra gayanti tatra tisthami narada(Padma Purana, Uttara-khanda 92.21–22)“O Narada, I do not dwell in Vaikuntha nor am I in the hearts of the yogis. I reside where My devotees glorify My name, form, qualities and transcendental pastimes.”

naham vasami vaikunthe – I am not always staying in Vaikuntha, yoginam hrdayena ca – I am not even always in the heart of the yogis. The yogis perform hard austerities and try to meditate in the Lord but still the Lord is saying, “I am not staying in the heart of the yogis”. So where is He staying? If He is not in Vaikuntha and not always staying in the heart of the yogis, where is He staying? mad-bhakta yatra gayanti tatra tisthami narada – He Narada, where My devotees glorify My sweet pastimes I automatically manifest Myself.

So in this way when Narada Rsi arrived in Vaikuntha Dhama, he saw these things, especially how Garuda is always close to Lord Visnu and with folded hands he asks how to serve Him.

Then Garuda said, “Actually I am not the best recipient of the mercy of the Lord”. Because in Vaikuntha Dhama there is a rasa called santa-rasa, but there is not so much dasya-rasa present there, just a little, but mostly santa-rasa

Santa-rasa means that there is nistha with the ista-deva (worshipable deity) but not so much servitude mood – sante nistha mamata seva ahim. So Garuda is there but he doesn’t have this type of servitude mood, [only] when the Lord asks him, at that time he performs his duties.

Servitude mood comes in two ways: one is called the knowledge of the relationship and the other one is possessiveness towards his ista-deva; that is called sambandha-jnana and mamata. Then servitude mood will come, without sambandha-jnana (knowledge of relationship) how is it possible to serve your ista-deva?

In Vaikuntha, santa-rasa is prominent and dasya-rasa is secondary; seva-vritti (tendency to serve) is there but that seva-vritti is completely covered with santa-rasa.

So Garuda [and the other servants] are there and they are also afraid of Lord Visnu because they all know that Lord Visnu is the Supreme Personality of Godhead (Svayam Bhagavan). They have the mood of opulence towards the Lord and they are told that Lord is Svayam Bhagavan. What is the qualification of Bhagavan? He is atmarama (self-satisfied) and aptakama (One who has all of His desires fulfilled); He is sarva-antaryami (He knows the heart of all the living entities); omniscient, omnipotent and all-mighty (sarva-saktiman); sarva-byapi (He resides everywhere and He is/sees everything); this are the symptoms of Bhagavan.

So how will the servitude mood comes towards one who is atmarama and aptakama; self-satisfied and one who has all of his desires fulfilled?

But when He desires to take service from anyone, then He gives the order for that servant to serve. Giving as an example: Garuda is there, if you go to any temple of Lord Visnu, Garuda stambha is there, which means that Garudaji is sitting five meters from Lord Visnu  with folded hands, sitting in virasana. Virasana means that when my Lord calls me, I will come quickly to fulfill His desires and follow His orders, this is called virasana. If Lord asks me, “Give me water”, then I will give it; if the Lord doesn’t ask for water, then I won’t give it, because they are always waiting and thinking, “when the Lord will give me any order?”. They know that the Lord is never thirsty, never hungry, but in His lila sometimes He feels hunger, takes food and other things, this is called the opulence mood.

Garudaji is also there, Visaksena and Garuda are the parikaras of Vaikuntha and Laksmi-devi who is massaging the Lotus feet of Lord Vishnu, but Lord Visnu is not always staying there. What is Visnu’s duty? To give chastisement to the demons. Lord Visnu cannot also sleep properly, when He sleeps, He has all of His weapons in His hands because at any moment Brahma will come and knock at His door. Giving as an example: If you have a job in a fire brigade, you will have to be always very alert, sitting on a chair, holding the steering... Because if at any moment the phone rings, “This place is on fire/burning”, then you will have to go, otherwise what are you thinking? “Okay I’m coming, but the petrol station is not on the way and I have to go there, wait on the queue, fill up the tank and then go”, this is not the way. The service of fire brigade means that at any time, at any moment, the phone call will come with the signal, it’s an emergency, you have to go. Then turning on the sound [of the siren] so everybody gives you way.

In the same way Lord Visnu is always alert because Brahma may come at any time and knock on the door, “You have to go to kill the demons and reestablish the varnasrama-dharma”. So you can see that Lord Visnu is not sleeping in a proper way, for this regard His eyes are always half closed and with a reddish color, because He is not getting proper sleep. If you don’t get proper sleep, your eyes automatically turn into reddish color and they stay half closed. Some persons sleep on an easy-chair, Lord Visnu is also on an easy-chair [Srila Gurudeva laughs], He is sleeping on a snake-bed (Ananta-deva).

But what is Lord Visnu’s duty? To kill de demons and reestablish the varnasrama-dharma. In Sri Bhagavad-Gita, Krishna says:
yada yada hi dharmasya glanir bhavati bharataabhyutthanam adharmasya tadatmanam srjamy aham(Bhagavad-Gita 4.7)paritranaya sadhunam vinasaya ca duskrtamdharma-samsthapanarthaya sambhavami yuge yuge(Bhagavad-Gita 4.8)“O Bharata! Whenever there is a decline of dharma and an increase in adharma, at that time I manifest My eternally perfect form in this mundane world. (4.7)”“To deliver the pious and to annihilate the miscreants, as well as to reestablish the principles of religion, I Myself appear, millennium after millennium. (4.8)”
This is the duty of Visnu.
In Caitanya-caritamrta, Krsna Das Kaviraja Gosvami also explains:
ataeva visnu takhana krsnera sarirevisnu-dvare kare krsna asura-samhare(Caitanya-caritamrta Adi 4.13)“At that time, therefore, Lord Visnu is present in the body of Lord Krsna, and Lord Krsna kills the demons through Him.”
visnu-dvare kare krsna asura-samhare – Krsna is Svayam Bhagavan, Brajendra-Nandana Syamasundara; when He comes to perform His lila in His Dhama, in the material world, at that time all of His incarnations are inside of Him. Because He is Svayam Bhagavan, He is Purnatava Bhagavan, so all of His incarnations are inside of Him. In the incarnation of Visnu, He kills the demons. Who killed the demons in Krishna’s-lila? Here in Caitanya Caritamrta, Krsna Das Kaviraja Gosvami explains: visnu-dvare kare krsna asura-samhare – Krsna killed all the demons in His Visnu incarnation but as Brajendra-Nandana Syamasundara what is His duty? The duty of Brajendra-Nandana Syamasundara is to always perform sweet lila (madhurya-lila) in Vrindavan with his parikaras (eternal associates) and specially [performing] His best lila which is called rasa-lila; Caitanya Caritamrta explains this.

In Vaikuntha Dhama Lord is manifested in the form of Lord Visnu and there is not only one Vaikuntha, but innumerable Vaikunthas are there because Lord has many incarnations (avataras) and all of His incarnations are eternal and transcendental. If you go to Vaikuntha Dhama, there are many planets; Nrisimha Dhama is there, which means Lord Visnu manifested in the form of Lord Nrisimha, Vamana Deva is there, Kurma avatara and all of the Dhamas are presented there, and the Lord is manifested in the form of …[audio problem], the lila is going on in this way, that is called ananta koti vaikuntha, so we say:
ananta-koti-vishnu-loka-namra-padmajarcitehimadrija-pulomaja-virincaja-vara-pradeapara-siddhi-riddhi-digdha-sat-padanguli-nakhekada karishyasiha mam kripa-kataksha-bhajanam?(Shri Radha-Kripa-Kataksha-Stava-Raja, 11th verse)
ananta-koti-vishnu-loka – there are innumerable Visnu-lokas (abode of Lord Visnu) and they all worship the toenails of Srimati Radhika; there are ananta-koti-vishnu-loka – Vaikuntha Dhama; there are many Vaikuntha’s, not only one and that is called Visnu-loka, all the incarnation of Lord and their planets are there. All the Vaikuntha Dhama’s [together] are called Maha Vaikuntha and after Maha Vaikuntha there is Rama-loka, Ayodya, Dvaraka, Mathura, Goloka and then Vrindavan.

There in Vaikuntha Dhama the Lord is staying and His parikaras are also there because it is explained that the Lord manifests His forms according to His own parikaras. The same Krishna is manifested in the form of Visnu in Vaikuntha according to His own parikaras and the same Lord Krishna manifested in Ayodya in the form of Ramacandra [according to] His parikaras that are also there.

Just as like in his material world; one person may have two kinds of jobs: a judge in the Supreme Court and his other duty is as a doctor. When he goes to the hospital, his dress is completely different, as a doctor, he is wearing a white cloth, with a stethoscope around his neck; in his right and left side he has his assistants caring his suitcase with this and that, three, four or five assistants and nurses... Because he is the doctor, so his identification is, “I am a doctor” and his parikaras are also in the same way. His associates, his assistants are in the same way, but when the same person goes to the court, at that time his dress will change, he will have also different parikaras, secretary and all of his dressings, at that time he becomes very grave. The doctor sometimes smiles and speaks very nice and sweet words with their patients, but the judge is very serious. He is not smiling, not laughing and joking, not wasting his time, so everybody gives honor to him, especially when he appears is his chamber, everybody gives honor to him because he is the supreme judge.

So in the same way, when Lord Krishna Bhagavan manifests His form in Vaikuntha, He manifests four arms - sankha, cakra, gada, padma, and his parikaras are also in this way.

Bhagavan manifests His form in two different ways: according to His Dhama (transcendental abode) and according to His parikaras. The same Krishna is in Goloka Vrindavan, His parikaras are Nanda, Yasoda, Subal, Sridhama, gopas, gopis; the cowherd forms are there.

He is standing in his tri-bhanga-lalit (three-fold bending) form, playing His flute, laughing and joking and completely free from all kinds of anxieties. When the same Krishna comes in Vaikuntha Dhama manifesting His form of Lord Narayana,  then He becomes very serious as like the judge of supreme court, and everybody gives honor to him.

When Narada Rsi arrived in Vaikuntha, he saw Lord’s parikaras; how Viksasena and Garuda give honor to Him.

So next time we will discuss this katha. After Vaikuntha Narada Rsi will go to Rama-loka (Ayodya Dhama).

Bolo Vrindavan Bihari Lal Ki Jay, Jay Jay Sri Radhe!!!
